Honestly, after this, I cannot unbelieve in luck or destiny or opportunity. Because really, the most amazing happenings in life come by so fast and so unexpectedly, that if you miss them by a mere second, you'll lose great experiences. Mere second and/or the fact that you're so into your comfort zone, that, deliberately, you'll choose to miss out on things that are different and exciting just because you think "they will come around again", and the problem is: things like this might happen only once in a lifetime.
And the connection between this inspo intro and Lisbon's Fashion Week? Simple. Had I missed my friend's call, I wouldn't have had the chance to attend the primest fashion event in Lisbon - ModaLisboa. It was such a dream of mine to be and observe the craziness that is the Fashion World, to see what all this ageless fuss was all about, to see the models walk down the runway with the creations all these talented designers made. And it came true! At least for one night.
Honestamente, depois disto, eu não posso não acreditar em sorte ou destino ou oportunidade. Porque realmente, os momentos mais inacreditáveis acontecem tão rápido e tão inesperadamente, que se não os apanharmos naquele segundo, perderemos oportunidade incríveis. Mas também o facto de estarmos tão bem na nossa zona de conforto, que, deliberadamente, escolheremos, por preguiça, perder essas oportunidades que nos são diferentes e, na volta, muito entusiasmantes, porque "pode acontecer uma outra vez", mas o problema é que às vezes só há essa UMA vez.
E a ligação entre esta introdução inspiradora and a Semana da Moda em Lisboa? Simples. Se não tivesse estado contactável para receber a chamada do meu amigo, eu não teria tido a oportunidade de assistir ao melhor evento de moda em Lisboa - a ModaLisboa. Era um sonho meu tão grande, de estar e observar este mundo louco que é o da Moda, de ver do que toda esta agitação se trata, de ver os modelos a desfilarem na passerelle em pessoa, e de ver todas as criações das tendências dos estilistas. E aconteceu mesmo! Pelo menos por uma noite.

Although it was exhausting waiting for the shows, especially when the adrenaline of excitement started to fade, it was so refreshing to see so many daring people and so well dressed but all in their way. It really taught that me, in those short 3 hours, that no matter what people might say, it's better to dress however you like and feel like it is really your personality you're showing, than dressing like somebody else just to fit in with the norm. So YES to individualism!
Apesar de ter sido muito cansativo esperar pelos desfiles, especialmente quando a adrenalina do excitamento começou a diminuir, foi tão refrescante ver pessoas tão ousadas na maneira de vestir. Mostrou-me, realmente, que, apesar do que as pessoas possam dizer, é sempre melhor vestirmo-nos como gostamos e como melhor nos sentimos, em vez de nos vestirmos como a "regra" manda. Por isso SIM ao individualismo!
